Fairfax County is governed by a 10-member Board of Supervisors, with a Chairman elected at large and 9 supervisors elected by district, all elected for 4-year terms. Republicans currnelty hold 3 seats on the board.

Virginia House of Delegates: State Delegates are elected to 2-year terms. Fairfax County includes all or part of 17 House districts. 5 of those are Delegate seats currently held by Republicans (including 2 newly-elected members in 2009), and 12 by Democrats. Members for the 2010-11 session:
