Help elect Republicans in Northern Virginia!

Fairfax County voters will be voting for Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, state legislators and county offices in 2009. The general election will be Tuesday, November 3.

Republican nominees for the three statewide offices were selected at the Virginia GOP Convention on May 30. More than 1500 Fairfax County Republicans signed up to be delegates to the State Convention by the local filing deadline of March 7. (See more on the State Convention and local sign-up procedure.) Over 1200 Fairfax delegates attended the Convention in Richmond.

We invite you to get involved with the '09 campaigns in Reston and Fairfax County! Several things you can do:

Republican nominees for statewide office will be chosen by the GOP State Convention, to be held May 30, 2009, in Richmond. Any registered voter in the County, who believes in the principles of the Republican Party, may sign up to be a Fairfax delegate to the Convention. We encourage all interested Republicans to participate.

IMPORTANT: You must sign up in advance, in order to be a voting delegate at the Convention. The filing form is available for download (see box), or you may ask FCRC to send one to you. Be sure to sign the form, and submit it to FCRC promptly (see mailing address). The filing deadline was Saturday, March 7. Forms MUST be delivered to FCRC headquarters no later tnan 12 noon on Sat., Mar. 7. Postmarks do not count, and late forms WILL NOT be accepted.

NOTES: There are many positions available (Fairfax may send up to 6085 delegates). If a larger number sign up, the selections will be made at a GOP canvass on Mar. 21. Also, the state party requests a filing fee of $35 for convention delegates, and FCRC requests a contribution as well, but those are voluntary.

McDonnell logoBob is a native of Fairfax County. He served in the House of Delegates from Virginia Beach for 10 years. He was elected Attorney General in 2005, and served until stepping down in Feb. 2009 for the Governor's race. He has broad support throughout the Commonwealth, and we look forward to supporting his campaign here in Fairfax.

For Lt. Governor of Virginia

Bolling photoLt. Gov. Bill Bolling is running for re-election in 2009. He and McDonnell are running together, to assure a united GOP effort in the coming year.

As Lieutenant Governor, he has been a consistent voice for fiscal responsibility, and has cast important tie-breaking votes in the closely divided State Senate.
